An ambitious and unique cultural project founded by Guimarães City Council, the Guimarães Orchestra proposes a traditional toast to the new year, with an energetic and festive concert. Under the direction of conductor, Vítor Matos, some of the most iconic and harmonious waltzes and polkas of the golden period of the Viennese balls will echo around the 2021 New Year's Concert, promising a fantastic journey across the famous and unavoidable music of the Strauss family. At the turn of an atypical year, that has been particularly difficult for everyone in Portugal, we will recall one of the greatest Portuguese composers, Luís de Freitas Branco, through his timeless Alentejan Suite.
