What would it be like if a dance performance spoke expressively - in order to be understood? “Choreography” focuses on the relationship between choreography, as a non-communicative artistic support, and sign language, as a gesture-based vocabulary system created to enable communication in the social sphere. The choreography, as imagined by Raoul Feuillet in his treatise, was first jotted down on paper, and later performed and transposed to the body. João dos Santos Martins focuses on this paradox, as he tries to articulate processes of incorporation and appropriation in dance.
