The expression “the elephant in the room” suggests the idea that when we’re in the presence of an obvious element it can easily be ignored. Elephants that I carry with me, or that the audience bring with them and even those that appear in the relationship between spectators and that which they observe. So in this specific case, what is it that don’t we dare to say or are unable to deal with? And given that this elephant is fragmented and plural, among so many people here, how many different possibilities can arise? Seeing, feeling, ignoring, diverting their gaze, and then seeing something else, touching something else, dancing through different subjects which in this case generates an attention and practice towards alternatives. What could actually be there is questioned and made feasible. A multiplicity in oscillation, possibilities in resilience. Each person or science, each experience or theory will try to define what is here or may arise. Nonetheless, and because of all this, so much will evade our gaze.
