C., Celeste e A Primeira Virtude
A group of art education students develop their final project, supervised by the “Master”. Using a medico-legal report they will reconstitute the details of a crime. Feeling that their academic life is drawing to an end, driven by anxiety and fear, the students begin to disagree with each other. Blinded by despair, the group breaks free, and two students tragically die. This is a performance about the paths which artistic teaching open up for invention - that happy place where the human soul establishes a vertical link between the Earth and the celestial abyss. A performance that aims to contribute to an honest debate about freedom, the role of art and love and the power embedded in the various isms – sexism, racism, fascism – and other manifestations of fear.

As part of the research and writing process for the theatre play “C., Celeste e a Primeira Virtude”, by Beatriz Batarda, the project “Corpos Celestes” was born, a video installation in 5 acts, 5 screens, 5 stories based on the testimonies of young artists in the areas of Theatre, Visual Arts and Dance, collected in the interval in which they see the course of their lives suspended: after their student life and before reaching public visibility. It's pandemic years. Fiction and reality intersect. With a contemporary look, we approach the important debate about the individual conflict between external pressures and intimate motivations.
A língua através da qual grande parte da comunidade surda em Portugal (cerca de 30.000 pessoas) comunica entre si. A expressão "língua gestual" refere-se à língua materna de uma comunidade de surdos. As línguas gestuais são línguas naturais, que surgem e se desenvolvem naturalmente, como as línguas orais. É produzida pelos movimentos das mãos, do corpo e por expressões faciais.
Um comentário adicional dirigido às pessoas com deficiência visual (cegas e com baixa visão) e que se refere à linguagem corporal, expressões e movimentos. Consiste num narrador que fala durante a apresentação, durante as pausas naturais do áudio, sobre o que está a acontecer (e que não é percetível através da audição).
