FRIDAY JUNE 6 , 9:30 PM
Corre, bebé! (Run, baby!)
Two people who wanted to be three. “Corre, bebé!” is a collection of reflections on the conflicts and desires of parenthood. A couple of trans people, in a post-apocalyptic setting (and who isn’t?), consider what it means to bring babies into this context. Expectations, social issues and insecurities are poetically addressed, drawing out the fears and dreams that may arise when raising a new person in an uncertain future. How many people can fit in that future?
“Corre, bebé!” is the winning project of the 7th edition of the Amélia Rey Colaço Grant, an initiative by Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, A Oficina/Centro Cultural Vila Flor, O Espaço do Tempo and Teatro Viriato, which supports productions by young artists and emerging theatre companies, aiming to foster the renewal of Portuguese theatrical creation.
