The experts say that the first fiction begins right after the cradle, as soon as we’re taught to hide and privatize our genitals. Autobiography, on the other hand, is almost an entirely different thing and dates back even before the practice of Catholic confession. It’s not uncommon to confuse the two—especially in contemporary playwriting. This workshop does not aim to clarify anything at all and, ideally, it will start by making things more confusing. Based on three different artistic practices, we’ll develop a series of exercises focused on the only thing that matters: playing, as seriously as possible.
