Alma is the name of a 12-year-old girl buried under the rubble of a five-storey building hit by an Israeli bombing. “My name is Alma. Please help my mother and my father first. And please help my brother Tarzan, he is an 18-month-old baby.” Alma shouts for someone to rescue her and hears others calling as well. Alma walks, covered in dust. She lifts a blanket and sees her brother with his head severed. She falls silent, haunted; it is impossible to forget what she has seen. “I wish for my death after seeing my brother like this.” Alma is saved by the rescue workers, to whom she confesses that she likes to sing. She has lost her entire family. “I can smell the blood. It drips over me.”
