FRIDAY JUNE 6, 6:00 PM
Ivu´Kar
Ivu’kar is a performance that is almost a concert, developed by Grilo and Maria José during the time Grilo accompanied Maria José until the moment of her passing. Drawing from recordings of both of them, as well as a diary written throughout the process, Ivu’kar takes us through the conversations, dreams, and abstractions of a son and a mother as they explore the idea of dying. Ivu’kar focuses on care as a primordial gesture of listening and curiosity in relation to the process of departure. Through a sonic, symbolic, visual, and gestural language, they re-signify death, birth, the idea of falling, and what is yet to come.
