SUNDAY 6 AND MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2026, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
Textile Talks
The Contextile 2026 Textile Talks will take place on 6 and 7 September, returning to a two-day format dedicated to the exchange of ideas, projects and research on textiles, art and related disciplines. Under the theme By a Thread / Por um Fio, the 2026 edition will be structured around six sub-themes that expand on the festival's central concept: Thread as Material — materiality and textile processes; Ecologies of Care — textiles and environmental sustainability; Community and Territory — art as a relational practice; Bodies and Memories — identity and textile heritage; Industry, Consumption and Resistance — a critique of fast fashion; and Regenerative Futures — new materialities and emerging practices.
We invite everyone interested to take part in these free-admission talks. The Textile Talks will bring together Contextile 2026 partners and invited guests, as well as artists and speakers selected through the open call.
