Like the festival’s jam sessions, the workshops are led by resident musicians invited specifically for this purpose, who remain in Guimarães for two weeks in order to fulfil this educational mission, a fundamental component of the festival’s programme. This year’s workshops will be directed by the quintet of Lex Korten.

This ensemble will be responsible not only for the jazz workshops but also for the festival’s jam sessions, and will present a concert that promises to be one of the highlights of this year’s edition, given the exceptional calibre and musicianship of the artists involved
