A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music — the oldest continuously operating conservatory in the United States — and based in New York since 2003, Peter Evans has spent the past twenty years pursuing an intense and wide-ranging career encompassing numerous ensembles as a leader or co-leader, an impactful exploration of the trumpet’s sonic limits documented on seven solo albums, and, finally, composition for ensembles of different configurations, chamber groups, and choirs. An idiosyncratic trumpeter equally at ease with pure abstraction and melodic concreteness, Evans has collaborated throughout his artistic career with numerous prominent figures from jazz, contemporary music, and improvisation, including John Zorn, Pauline Oliveros, Anthony Braxton, Dave Liebman, and Craig Taborn.

Originally from Chicago and now based in New York, Joel Ross is an emerging vibraphonist of the new generation of jazz whose relatively short career has already produced a significant record of both collaborative and authorial activity. As a bandleader, Ross has released five recordings to date on the Blue Note label, including his most recent album, Gospel Music (2026), and has worked as a sideman with prominent figures in contemporary jazz such as Marquis Hill, Makaya McCraven, and Rob Mazurek.

Nick Jozwiak is a double bassist, cellist, and pianist with a background in both classical music and jazz, whose diverse body of work encompasses different musical genres and formats, including orchestras, rock bands, and experimental music ensembles. Throughout his multifaceted career, Jozwiak has established creative relationships with musicians such as saxophonist Aaron Burnett, violist Jessica Pavone, and guitarist Tom Csatari.

Multi-instrumentalist and composer Tyshawn Sorey is currently regarded as one of the leading drummers in contemporary North American jazz, as a result of an intense collaborative career with some of the most highly regarded figures on the contemporary jazz circuit, including Wadada Leo Smith, Steve Coleman, Sylvie Courvoisier, and Butch Morris, among many others. No less significant than his collaborative career, however, is Sorey’s work as a composer, reflected in numerous recordings and recently recognised with the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Music.
